If you have in your programme of study a curricular language proficiency test (“idoneità”) managed by the Language Centre, you can prepare for the test with an online self-study course on the Elly portal and/or with courses held by native-speaker teachers, when activated.
These courses are not compulsory in order to take the “idoneità” test.

COURSES WITH TEACHER
For the 1st semester 2026/2027, the Language Centre offers 30-hour courses held by a Language expert (CEL = Collaboratore ed Esperto Linguistico). It is not necessary to enrol in order to attend lessons.

Note for courses in "distance" mode: meetings take place via video call on the Teams app, which is available within the Microsoft 365 suite associated with your University of Parma account. The code to join the virtual class is published on the course's Elly page (in the "CLASSE TEAMS" section) starting from the first day of the course.
To join the course's virtual class for the first time, access Microsoft Teams (using your UNIPR account), go to the "Teams" menu, click on "Join or create a team" > "Join a team" > "Join a team with a code", then enter the code.
English Courses for Students with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
The Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Industries of the University of Parma offers English language courses for students with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD). These courses are mainly (but not exclusively) aimed at students who have the “idoneità” test in their programme of study, with the possibility for attendees to take a personalised test.
Courses (starting in October 2026 for the a.y. 2026/2027) are preceded by an informational meeting (06/10/2026) and an entry test to place students in the appropriate course: all details are available on the courses Elly page at this link (Elly Didattica > Centro Linguistico di Ateneo > Lingua Inglese per Studenti con Disturbi Specifici dell’Apprendimento).
